Midwater Arch for Thailand

A Midwater Arch has recently been installed in the Gulf of Thailand, Block 12 in a mean water depth of approximately 60m as part of Chevron’s Erawan Field Development project. Sea and Land Project Engineering Limited, under contract to SLP Precast Limited, carried out the design of the Midwater Arch.

The MWA has three buoyancy tanks, each with a diameter of 2550mm, and supports two flexible risers, one with a diameter of 250mm and the other 150mm. The risers are supplied by Wellstream International of Newcastle. The MWA weighs approximately 100 tonnes and is anchored to the seabed using a piled base unit which was also designed by Sea and Land Project Engineering Limited.
