Amrumbank Offshore Substation

In October 2011 Sea and Land Project Engineering Limited was commissioned by Iemants Staalconstructies of Belgium to design the Jacket support structure to the Amrumbank Offshore Substation.  The design was subject to the rigorous requirements of the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency, Bundesamt für Seeschiffahrt und Hydrographie (BSH) and certified by DNV.  This is one of the first such structures to be designed and constructed to German Offshore Standards and represents a major opportunity to develop our experience of working in this new and important business environment.

The jacket weighs approx. 1000 tonnes and stands in 21m water. It supports a substation deck weighing approx. 2500 tonnes and is secured to the seabed with four 2.43m diameter piles. Designed in the United Kingdom and built at the Iemants yard in Belgium, the Jacket was installed in the Amrumbank Wind Farm 100km north west of Bremerhaven in April 2014 by the Rambiz HLV.
