Over the coming months, we would like to introduce you to some of the innovative, hard-working, world-class talent we are fortunate enough to have working here at SLPE. We feel immensely proud of each member of our team, all of whom work tirelessly to ensure we deliver the exceptional offshore engineering services and customer service we believe our clients deserve. With this in mind, we thought it was high time we gave them some much-deserved recognition.

This month, we have put the spotlight on Luke Jacques. Luke has now been working at SLPE for a total of five years, a milestone that we are delighted he has achieved.

Luke first joined SLPE as a Senior Engineer having gained a wealth of experience in offshore engineering, including a large breadth of expertise in offshore geotechnical and structural engineering, in previous roles. In 2019, after excelling in his position as Senior Engineer, he was promoted to the position of Principal Engineer & Bid Manager. He has a strong commercial ability coupled with excellent management and leadership skills developed through working on a variety of multidisciplinary projects with high profile clients. In the last two years, he has been instrumental in developing and shaping SLPE’s business management processes and policies and setting strategy for growth.

“There is nothing more rewarding than becoming an expert in your field”, said Luke. “It is very satisfying when people rely on you for your expertise. I am fortunate to have found a career that I love, that challenges me daily, and that gives me an opportunity to support, encourage, and work alongside other likeminded engineering specialists”.

Luke is passionate about his career and the offshore renewable industry. This is evident from his commitment to his own personal development and guiding junior colleagues to professional accreditation through his role as an ICE Mentor. We think he is a great inspiration for anyone in the offshore engineering industry looking to establish themselves within a company and progress into a senior, decision-making role. Oh, and in case that isn’t enough to impress you, he is also a keen cyclist and Champion of our Bike to Work Scheme!
