The Midwater Arches (MWA) and associated Gravity Base Anchor Systems (GBAS) were designed by Sea and Land Project Engineering Limited under contract to SLP Precast Ltd. The Cendor field is approximately 140km off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia and the Midwater Arch was installed at a water depth of approximately 63m.
The MWA has a single buoyancy tank with a diameter of 4900mm. The risers were supplied by Wellstream International of Newcastle. The MWA weighs approximately 107 tonnes and is anchored to the seabed using a reinforced concrete Gravity Base Anchor System weighing 660 tonnes. The MWA and GBAS were fabricated by Labuan Shipyard & Engineering in Malaysia.
